Synapse Sprint

What fuels the sprint

Every distance on Synapse Sprint is free to run, with no account and no entry fee. The bills behind it are real all the same: a server, a domain name, and the evenings spent building new ladders. This page lays out, without small print, how those bills are meant to be covered.

Advertising in labelled spaces

The main source is meant to be Google AdSense adverts. They may show up only inside boxes labelled “Advertisement”, and only on pages you read rather than play: the start line, the game and ladder lists, the rules and the guides.

We are still connecting AdSense, so no ad network is live on the site today. Until it is, each labelled box carries a short note of ours asking advertisers and sponsors to write in.

Sponsoring a distance

Direct sponsorship is the second way in: a business may back a single game or a full ladder. Any such block will be headed “Sponsored by…” with the backer's name after it, which keeps it from ever passing for part of a run. Sponsors pay for being named and nothing else; results, levels and targets stay exactly as they are. Right now the site has no sponsors at all.

What will never happen

Advertise or sponsor
